FEAR MY SOLITUDE (SWEDEN)

Fear My Solitude (FMS) was a brainchild of Mikael Jansson who at the time, 1991, was playing bass with Ola in Sorcery. He had got fed up with the whole Death Metal thing and searched for something new. He invited Ola into his project and the first three songs we made differed a lot. One song was in the vein of bands like Sisters of Mercy, the second was more a punk song and the third, a slow, melancholic doom metal song. We soon decided that we should follow the doom direction and the band was born. All songs were recorded as soon they were written and never rehearsed (which definitely can be heard in several songs) The music was written by Mikael and the lyrics by Ola and arranged by us both. We recorded all music in the bedroom of Mikaels flat, mentioned as "Studio Ångest" on the covers and mixed in the living room at my flat, "Studio Bondage". Mikael played all guitars and all basses on the demos. I sung, programmed the drum machines, "played" harmonica and made various sounds. All in all there would be nine demos until we faded away in our work in 1996. We also made one video demo. At the time I worked on a local TV channel and we decided to make two Videos. I don't know how usual this is but I have never heard of any band doing this anyway. Mikael and I later collaborated in another project of his called "Amanita phalloides" but never released anything. We also got together in 2001 and founded the band Outremer which we had an album released on Pulverised rec. last year. in 2003 we re-recorded some of the old songs and one brand new one with the help of Jocke Olofsson on drums and released the demo CD "Songs from the Via Dolorosa motel". Recently we have been talking of doing some new songs but as usual this may probably stay as just talk. -Ola
